The purpose of these Spanish of the Week exercises is to introduce you to basic Spanish phrases that you may hear or use while on your trip to Ecuador. These exercises are not intended to make you fluent, but to allow you to communicate basic ideas, to allow you to be polite, and to allow you to demonstrate your attempts to be culturally sensitive when interacting with local people.
In this program, we will not bother trying to cover verb tenses or the more complex sentence constructions. The goal is for each student to become familiar with the bare minimum needed to get by.
This series of exercises is divided up into lessons based on when or how the words and phrases will be used (e.g., at the airport, in a hotel, at a restaurant), so that it will be easy for you to flip to the relevant lesson and find the phrases or vocabulary that you need at the moment.
